Writing Caterpillars Never Die -
Since January 2010 described below.
I am finished with my "non-gift" for my friend, Mary Emma, who turned 90 on April 25, 2008. It was presented to her at her Birthday Party, April 26th. It is now almost a year later and Mary Emma is doing fine. She still joins us for wine tastings at the Old Town wine Cellar on Main Street.
The book, published in 1918 - The Little Wise Chicken That Knew It All - was purchased from a rare book seller in Ohio. The hat pins, that hold the salt & pepper chickens onto the hat, and the green glasses, were purchased at Twig's in Yuma, AZ. The rest were purchased from eBay sellers who have been most wonderful in helping me. I could not have done this without them! Donna Weaver, who designs jewelry & has an eBay store, hand made the Swarovski crystal "diamond & emerald" necklace & earrings adorning the mannequin. Below are the final photos of the project. The green glasses were the final touch! My husband named the mannequin, Madeline!

Entering this endeavor has put on hold the book I was working on for the last 3 years - The Jeepster Book - now retitled "A Jeepster for My Love" (Jeepsters 1948-51). The title is stolen from the song Jeepster by Mark Bolan - but back to that fairly soon - which in my life will be about 2012 or so. Maybe longer - I see my father's book as an animation film. Hope someone else does~
